LAW ENFORCEMENT REINVESTMENT ACT

WHEREAS, the ____________________ Governing Body has authority over the appropriation and allocation of public funds; and

WHEREAS, federal law enforcement–related reimbursements are intended to offset the costs borne by local agencies; and

WHEREAS, reinvesting such reimbursements into core public safety functions promotes accountability and effectiveness;

SECTION 1. Purpose & Intent

To direct eligible federal law enforcement–related reimbursements to core public safety uses.

SECTION 2. Allocation

All applicable reimbursements received by ____________________ shall be deposited to a

dedicated law enforcement account.

SECTION 3. Authorized Uses

Personnel, equipment, overtime, administrative support, and compliance activities consistent with

federal terms.

SECTION 4. Reporting

An annual informational summary of receipts and expenditures shall be provided.

SECTION 5. Effective Date

This resolution takes effect upon adoption.
